Where is your Faith?

As a Christian, have you ever felt like you were losing your mind? This is the moment where we have to examine ourselves and determine where our level of faith has amounted to.

At times we fall into the temptation of looking at yesterday. Faith is ACTIVATED in the NOW. It is the substance of things hoped for and the EVIDENCE of things unseen. We are able to have a sound mind because of our CONFIDENCE in God. It is our confidence in the world that causes our doubt in the ability of God to move in our life. Peace is activated when you trust God undoubtedly.

Even while waiting on God, it is important for us as believers to do our part. Sometimes we want God to move while we do nothing. We don’t wait for or take heed to God’s instruction. At times it is because we are not listening and other times it is because we do not like what God is telling us to do.

Take for example the rich man in the bible who asks Jesus what he must do to inherit eternal life. (Mark 10:17-31) He tells Jesus he has obeyed all of the commandments since he was a youth and Jesus replies “There is still one thing you haven’t done. Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” “At this the man’s face fell, and he went away sorrowful, for he had many possessions.”

God is sometimes not telling us no or to wait for what have we asked for but has given us specific instruction. Jesus gave the rich man instruction and because his confidence was in his possessions, he was willing to miss eternal life. If our faith is not strong and we aren’t willing to cut off things in order to gain God, we will find ourselves in that constant state of losing our mind. It takes faith to to die to our own will and present ourselves as a living sacrifice to God. It is only in God’s hands that our lives our worth anything.

God will give us a particular leader to provide us with instruction. We have to have confidence and trust in God in order to harken to the voice of our appointed leader. If our faith has been activated, our heart will be in the right condition to receive instruction. “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17) “... and how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:14)

It is one thing to know of God and another to know God. It is by faith that we build a personal relationship with God. To recap, your FAITH must remain ACTIVATED in the present (NOW), your confidence in God is the EVIDENCE of your faith, and your TRUST in God to adhere to instruction of your appointed leader will continue to keep you of sound mind and in God’s will. It is most important to remember that he that comes to God must BELIEVE! Where is your FAITH?
